New Life Mission

Since 2009, New Life Mission has equipped homeless mothers with the skills and knowledge to transform their families in a Christ-centered environment. Through education, accountability and goal advancement, our organization empowers families to become self-sufficient.

New Life Mission works to permanently break the generational cycle of homelessness by providing homeless women with children safe shelter, onsite childcare, in-house mental health counseling, access to health care, transportation, education, nutrition, job training and life skills education. Since opening our doors, more than 180 homeless families have found the help they need at New Life Mission.

We are committed to providing women all the physical, spiritual and intellectual tools and resources needed to rise from poverty, get off of government assistance and create a better future for themselves and their children.  Three years after completing the program, 90% of our families are still in stable housing, are still employed, and living independently.

We are committed to providing safe housing while they are working through their individualized case plans. We provide a safe, structured, residential environment. We have 13 apartments and 8 small homes that are fully furnished, move-in ready and supplied with household necessities. Each home or property has a playground, laundry facilities and is located within easy access to daycare.  In 2019, we granted mothers and their children 10,687 nights of housing.

Kids Club

2,800Hours of Activities

We are committed to providing a safe atmosphere for children, fostered through consistency and stability. While the student mothers are in classes, children meet with trained staff and volunteers three times a week in Kids Club for play and planned curriculum. In 2019, we dedicated 2,800 hours of Kids Club activities geared towards filling critical gaps in academics, spirituality, and socialization.

Story of Transformation

Emily

Shannon: Daughter of the King

“I was a nurse…..and an addict” Shannon quietly confesses. Making eye contact she states with conviction, “I am more than a mom, a woman, a former addict and a nurse. I am the daughter of the King!”

Years of addiction to pain medication, jail time and in and out of rehab centers, Shannon is currently three years sober. “EVERYTHING” she shouts out when asked what New Life Mission means to her. The life skills classes have taught her how to parent her son. The financial classes have taught her how to budget, paying for car repairs with a savings account. “I never even knew how to save before!”

“Five years from now?” Shannon repeats back when asked where she sees herself in the future. “Being a homeowner, a nurse again and raising my son! God brought me this far…he’s got plans for me!”
